AB350 MOTHERBOARD BIOS CHANGE

Modified on Mon, 27 Jan at 8:32 AM

IMPORTANT!!! Ace Computers does not warranty any board from this project. Any failures during the update process are at your own risk !

Prepare a FAT32 USB key with the contents of the provided zip download.

AB350_FD.zip

Extract the zip file to the drive. There should be an EFI directory and 3 files outside it.

Remove any boot drives (M.2 / SATA) from the PC.

Enter into BIOS setup and clear the admin password from BIOS / Administrator Password

Note: The default password is just password. If that does not work then the original customer has reset it. You can unplug AC and remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes. If this does not work then we have no backdoor to reset. The machines were built specifically for a project and the customer had very specific security requirements.

Set Secure Boot to disabled and USB Mass Storage Driver Support to enabled.

Insert the prepared USB key and allow the system to boot to EFI Shell

Switch to the USB Drive, type FS0:

Update the BIOS with the transition update:

update.nsh

When presented with options to proceed, select "f" to force the update.

Note, the BIOS version will remain at 105 after the update but the date of the version will change. This is the indicator that the flash was successful.

If the update is completed successfully, you will be able to use normal download updates from Gigabyte. Be mindful of any stepping from their website… ie need version X before updating to version X.

You can use the same script as before if you rename the new downloaded file to AMIROM.rd and replace the old file.

Once the genuine Gigabyte bios is loaded, all normal tools like QFLASH will be available.
