PROBLEM:
No display from installed video card. Motherboard VGA displays "System Initializing"
Note, the motherboard VGA is not enabled for the OS, it is for diagnostics only.
SOLUTION:
The onboard VGA port is for diagnostics only and will not function for the OS. It can be used to verify if the machine is getting to POST but not outputting to the installed graphics card. If there is no display from the VGA port then please contact tech support. If there is output from the VGA port then follow the directions below.
Turn of power on the back of the power supply and set to 0 or OFF, models may vary. Ignore any switch indicating ECO mode. By default this should be OFF.
Remove the side panel of the PC and locate the white CMOS clear jumper.
Move the jumper to the LEFT two pins and wait at least one minute.
Move the jumper back to the RIGHT two pins.
Turn on the power on the power supply only and wait 2 minutes for the onboard management controller to initialize. (do not turn on the PC from the top panel power button before this).
Make sure the video card is connected only with the mini-DP to DP converter provided with the system and using a native DP monitor. Do not connect to the onboard VGA port. If needed, confirm that the display and cable are operational using another available system.
After the 2 minutes, turn on the PC from the power button on the case.
Wait and see if the display comes up.
Note: After a clear and depending on the amount of memory installed, this process could take several minutes initially.
